Façade is our white wine produced from the Grenache Gris grape, found interplanted amongst the various vineyard plots of old-vine Grenache. Inefficient in nature, the vineyard team has to walk thourgh all of the Grenache Rouge plots to find the rare Grenache Gris fruit to harvest.
THE LABEL
Taken by Dave from his hotel room at Hotel Arts Barcelona, the label pictures Torre MAPFRE and the Balearic Sea beyond, a familiar view for Dave during his numerous trips between Maury and Napa every year.
WINEMAKER’S NOTES
A straw gold shimmering as it moves settles in the glass with a slight jade flicker on the rim. Immediate aromas of ripe melon, Anjou pear, white flowers and flint invade the olfactory system. Concentrated and layered yet crisp at the same time, the 2023 Façade has notes of white nectarine, honeydew, more Anjou pear and white jasmine. Coating with a pleasing texture, the wine closes bright and clean, inviting a revisit.
MATURATION
Fermented in Stainless Steel and aged 8 months in 50% Stainless Steel and 50% French Oak barriques, 12.5% New
